It is nearly impossible to immigrate from the mainland, Hong Kong or Macau to Taiwan unless you married a Taiwanese person (even then, if you work for the Chinese government, they probably will deny you). In fact, even if you can prove that the Chinese government is persecuting you and wrongfully imprisoned you in the past, you would not be allowed to claim political asylum there.
