And Texas is roughly 8% of the nation’s population, so Texas is generating a lot of that nationwide 11% increase. I would like to see the Texas number compared to the other 49 states combine instead of nationwide. It would be even more dramatic.

And on the map of abortion bans, most of the outright bans are in states with abysmal quality of life, healthcare, education, job prospects, etc. It’s like the politicians of those states want their constituents to suffer.

The Texas Maternal Mortality Committee doesn’t even have this data yet. This week they released their bi-annual report and it only has the latest results of 2020-2021. Showing the worst numbers ever for moms dying due to lack of access to health care even after the Covid factor is removed. But it doesn’t have the impact of SB8. The Texas Maternal Mortality Committee has become an official mechanism of denial that abortion is hurting women in Texas. So much so they have now stopped sharing all its information with the national Maternal Mortality Task Force.

This report is from data from 2019 to 2022. The ban became law in 2021, which shows the ban could not be the driving force on these numbers.
Show us the data post-ban only and then write the article. If that number was high in and of itself that is what the report would have shown.
