I’m not even surprised anymore with Melbourne. This place is a gross cesspool.

I’m sure the victim, her family and friends and all other women around Victoria sighed a breath of relief knowing this rapist is under the control of highly restrictive bail condition…..of not being able to leave his house between 8pm to 7am.

  2. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Basically this magistrate is saying to woman not to go for a run on their own because apparently this man’s rights are more important than their safety.

I also love the FEMALE magistrates comment that any slip up and he’ll be back behind bars. So thanks you moron, apparently another woman has to get raped because of you.

The magistrate believes it’s important for the alleged violent rapist to re-engage with the community.

To re-engage with the young girls in his family, to re-engage with the young girls in his local community if he gets the ’24-hour supervision’ his parents (who up till now have done such a great job) have promised and, when the neglible restraints imposed by the court have been discarded, to re-engage with any woman he chooses in the wider community at anytime of day or dark night.

Although this seems utterly insane to me, I have no legal background and far be it from me to critique the stellar performance of the Victorian judicial system.

Lucky that rapist didn’t lie on his tax return, otherwise he’d face serious consequences.

  5. Us ordinary men are subjected to barrages of compulsory training and lectures about how how lecherous we are. Meanwhile people accused of these crimes are literally walking off.

Imagine 16 year olds across the country.
“You’re saying I can get away with rape now as long as I agree to be supervised?!”

And yet the guy who handcuffed kids for damaging his property in the northwest of australia gets labelled a criminal…

  7. Maybe her dad can find this guy Rape him and then he’ll know the consequences are only a shitty little curfew. I’m so sick of this fucking state.

  8. Absolutely disgusting.

If you live in Australia you should be outraged, you should be so angry you are willing to protest. This isn’t Australia. This is not what our citizens (or ANY person) deserves, this is happening in YOUR country, are we going to accept this as a normal outcome for such a pathetic worthless person?

  9. Melbourne is fucked. I’ve lived here my entire life and loved the place, but after the last 5 or so years I’m nearly done with it. Completely failed justice system, youth crime out of control, traffic becoming unbearable, house prices insane, shit weather, unsustainable immigration. It’s extremely sad. I’ve seriously looked into moving elsewhere but I’ve got too much tying me down here.

I feel like we are on edge of an enough is enough moment in the community where it gets ugly

  11. Women led the soft leftist approach and are now bearing the brunt of it, things were the way they were for a reason

  12. What a great outcome, this will do wonders to stop night time rapes. Daytime rapes have really been underrepresented as of late, will be good to see the tables turned.

This article is very light on detail. I think not only has this scumbag been released but his identity is being concealed . A hefty jail term and name and shame the grub should he minimum

I believe he was released because we still base (thank ye gods) our law on innocent until proven guilty.

  15. I am sick of these diseased leftist activist judicial officers. Why isn’t she convinced he will receive a lengthy prison term if she also stated the case is strong? These activists have infested the entire system, from regular courts, human rights, hr departments, local councils, nothing short of a Soviet style Katyn purge is going to cleanse this country from these deluded leftist filth. It wouldn’t be so serious if they were not activity harming our society. Suicidal empathy. Just like the direction 99 criminals, let the public servants and judiciary billet these people in their own homes and communities. What happened to being punished for the fucking crime.

    Raging!!!

No previous criminal history and has supportive parents isn’t grounds to be granted bail when you sexually assault someone in a park. This is such a disgrace… This girl has to now deal with her trauma while this apparent “no threat to society” can go back home with Mum & Dad.

Our justice system continues to prove itself as weak as shit! What has it got to take to punish these perpetrators for the crimes they commit?

  17. We’ve already seen how this goes with the Jill Meagher case. The magistrates keep letting the rapist out over and over again until one of his victims doesn’t survive the assault. Then they put someone else in jail for pointing out that the magistrates are complicit in his crimes.

  18. “The magistrate said detention should always be a last resort, and while the prosecution’s case was strong, she was not convinced he would get a significant jail-term.”

WTF!? This is the most concerning to me. Bail is one thing, but this comment would indicate that a vicious, RANDOM attack by a 16yo is unlikely to get a significant custodial sentence? This fellow should be tried as an adult, instead of being slapped with the wet noodle of the Children’s Court sentencing restrictions.

How to reduce youth detention rates step 1. Slap their wrists step 2 wait for them to reoffend
