  2. Imho autocracies are just used to take what they want and do what they want against the weaks by force and unpunished. Russia noticed that the western democracies made it much harder, if not impossible, to do what it wants and take what it wants by force.

So imho it is possible that its next move, however it will go in Ukraine, will be to organise the other autocracies of the world, arm them, help them expand against their neighbors, and then later go against the western democracies all together. Once the western democracies are removed, Russia will be able to take what it wants and do what it wants by force again.

Somehow this possible spiral should be considered and prevented, sooner better than later.

  3. While I didn’t read the article, I saw another earlier that talked about Russian dependence on North Korean missiles.

I am curious if this is part of the reason for China’s dance with Russia. I see no upside for China in Kim having access to Russian nuclear technology. So they will play nice with Russia as long as they don’t advance the North Korean program.

    No expert, just a thought.

  4. Israel might be forced to use theirs to stop them now by attacking their nuclear faculties with nuclear weapons like Benny Morris suggested

  5. That’s what you’d call a serious escalation. Putin escalating whilst warning of Armageddon if anyone else tries it. That’s not how it works. Putin needs to be removed from within asap.

  6. I understand Iran’s desire to acquire working missiles, but I am confused about any “nuclear secrets” Russia would want. I can understand Russia getting Iranian oil, or possibly Russia wanting to destabilize the region as part of a strategy to deal with Ukraine, but…this sounds supicious

  7. Honestly, seems like something I’m sure the US government added into their assumption of who did and didn’t have “nuclear secrets” – like what was ever stopping any bad actor from doing this aside from their own security?

I’m a patriot, but it doesn’t sound crazy for America to share information like this with its allies either.

  8. there’s nothing secret about nuclear. enrichment is hard and expensive. any decent economy could develop, it’s just majority choose not to cause of treaty on the non-proliferation
