It’s not alarming at all, considering the weakening of the Moscow state. States will do drastic measures in moments of weakness.
Washington DC shared nuclear knowledge to London when Moscow was at the peak of their space program. A space program that Washington DC didn’t know if it included military capabilities or not. So the situation back on Earth needed to change during that moment.
Right now Moscow is at the lowest and weakest they been in decades, so that means doing this, having another close nuclear armed state, such as Tehran, and the already close Pyongyang.
Moscow will perceive doing this will return them to their “normal” situation.

it’s funny how there’s a double standard between the west and the east. When the west does stuff, it’s PROTECTION and WE NEED TO STOP EVIL but when the east does the same shit it’s apparently a problem. We don’t need America to rule the world. Or Russia. Both need to stop.

Well, of course they did, and Pakistan sold secrets to North Korea.
And the UK gave the nuclear genie to Pakistan.
And the Soviet Union gave secrets to India.

It may be the time to consider the possibility that if Russia takes any piece of Ukraine using the threat of nukes and get away with it unpunished, it will ally with the other autocracies of the world, arm them with nuclear weapons, help their expansion against their neighbors, and later they may decide to go against the western democracies all together. It may be useful to have some contingency plan if this starts happening.
