I’ve thought for awhile that several European countries might try this. I’m curious to see how it goes.

We are headed in to a global era of extremely tight immigration regulations in the west. I don’t see any other possible solutions at this point.

serious question; Does Sweden have a terrible Visa/Refugee program for this to be offered?

Like is there a “Canada” type problem going on there or something..?

Refuge is a temporary thing. If you are given refuge and turn out to be a jackass then maybe you shouldn’t be surprised when they throw you out on your ass

  5. So the liberals of Reddit have decided to address this sad case of affairs with jokes and not admit you can’t just take 10-30K people from a different culture/world view and put them in the West. Things will go wrong.

    >He said the incentive would most likely appeal to the several hundred thousand migrants who were either long-term unemployed, jobless or whose incomes were so low they needed state benefits to make ends meet.

If true this is embarrassing. At least in the US our migrants have jobs. Did they seriously have no plan for these people’s lives when they took them in?

  7. That seems like a good way to bring in more immigrants by promising them big checks after they enjoy their stay.

Yup everyone thinks letting the refugees in is a good idea until they are in your neighbourhood

  9. So… years ago, when we were saying “all this third world migration is gonna cause some serious problems” and we were called racists by you *good, empathetic leftys*… what’s the story now? Is Sweden racist? Or are we just going to pretend that never happened, and all the housing shortages and economic harm your guys policies caused on our generation, will we just move past it without anyone learning anything?

Maybe this “my side is always right, your side is always wrong” is kinda silly hey? And maybe changing your self-stated principles (supporting the working class) just to argue against your political opponents and take the opposing stance isn’t intelligent? Maybe it’s time we believe in borders again and quit pretending “my country is worse than yours” *isn’t enough* to make a legit refugee claim.

  10. This reminds me of when meth heads won’t pay their rent in the U.S., so the landlords give them money to move out.

  11. Sweden, just send me the 34k. Or I am going there and gonna eat your cats and dogs, take your jobs, and marry your women.
