It’s worth noting that Masyaf is nowhere near the Israeli border, but is deep inside Syria, close to the Russian naval base at Tartus.
The fact that Israel could fly helicopters that deep in Syria, drop of of special forces, and extract multiple Iranian operatives shows that Israel can operate with complete immunity within Syria.
