Doomscrolling is the national pasttime, people are more tribal than ever, kidness feels rare and insincere. It’s good to pause and ask each other, Are you okay? How are you going?

Although we should also treat every day as R U Ok day, it’s good to have a yearly reminder too.

  1. I’d like to be, but I’m not okay. I question if anyone can say with 100% certainty they are.

But I’m focusing on myself and trying to improve the things that make me not feel good right now. And I know how to seek out further help if I need it.

  2. I’m not okay but I’ll work through it. Not going to some Psychologist that doesn’t understand me or my problems and then puts me on mind numbing drugs.

  3. Not even in the slightest. I shake , I constantly worry about money, I have long term degenerative health issues, I cant work …can’t sleep….have no human friends and my best ever mate in this world , my little dog Jim ,died in my arms last week of cancer .

Fuck life. It shouldn’t be this hard

  4. I’m ok until work publicises ruok day and then I feel like crap, because it puts a tonne of extra pressure on me and all my colleagues to pretend to be ok.

Ruok effectively puts everyone under suspicion for being mental/depressed/anything less than happy! happy! happy! that could affect productivity and get you pushed out of your job.

The rest of the year we can be sad, depressed, nutty: ruok day is Be Normal Or Else Day.
