I remember watching this YEARS ago and I always felt soo bad for the tanker.
I’ve heard that your buddies in combat are essentially closer to you than you are with family. So watching them in a burning tank knowing they can’t escape and being the sole survivor must be gut-wrenching.
He probably had alot of survivor’s guilt from this experience.

Given that the engine was powered by petrol and not diesel, the gas burned readily and rapidly. Deadly combination.
