  1. An interesting and sad fact about the 59th Motorized Brigade is that its soldiers are heavily combat-ready, with the famous Da Vinci Wolves Battalion being part of this brigade. However, the brigade’s command has a very bad reputation. There are many reports that the lack of professionalism of the command means that the effectiveness of the soldiers is put in check and that important resources such as better armored vehicles are redirected to brigades with more effective and professional commanders. This goes to show that the formation of committed and professional officers is more important than the formation of elite troops, and in this the Soviet Union failed greatly. Unfortunately, not all high-ranking officers sought to renew their own minds, and this problem continues in the Ukrainian army (although the situation is much better than that of the Russian army), and the abyss between brigades with good, open-minded commanders and bad commanders with the old Soviet mentality grows even wider, with brigades with good commanders having much more success on the battlefield, while soldiers from the others anxiously await the change of command
