California sides with big utilities, trimming incentives for community solar projects

  1. I guess will see this piece over and over again around here.

    Failing to address that California is oversupplied by solar PV already and that all the benefits they claim solar has on the grid have been already achieved and now they need complementary technologies.

    Also that solar PV has become the cheapest technology for electricity generation so there is no need for extra incentives, people will continue to install them due to basic economics.

    And that benefits should focus on solar projects with batteries or small rooftop solar (also with batteries) minimising the energy that’s exported do the grid during daytime.
